2000 Harley Sportster Bobber

Shawn at the Real Surf Shop at Oceanside, California, United States made available to us these photographs of this 2000 Harley Sportster Bobber which after upgrading from 883cc now has a 1200cc Evolution engine. This bike also has a supercool snowboard saddle sprung with a Fox Float RP3 mountain bike shock.

Shawn: "The stock frame has been stretched 4" and lowered 2 1/2". Being a rigid this thing is all go, at 350 lbs and hp in the mid 80's its one of the quicker bikes around town. Just a few custom touches are the 50's harmonica mic tail lights, the snowboard seat on a Biltwell hinge with a Fox mountain bike air shock, custom mid pipes with heat wrap, custom Tbars, old leather solo bag, cut cam cover, rounded rocker boxes. "

The patina, subdued colors, absence of shiny chrome, hardtail frame, and oldschool Avon tires all add to the original vintage looks of this Bobber.

Although it could be maintained that the Ironhead was the last true Harley engine, it is probably also true that this is Oldschool with modern reliability.

Who wouldn't like to take her for a ride... ?

Upgraded 1200cc Evolution Engine

Shawn: "The motor was an 883 converted to 1200. It has a Crane HI4 race ignition, and an S&S carb with a custom air cleaner. It has a simple wiring harness done by Rich over at Moreland Choppers that has been insane, no electrical issues ever!

Sprung Bobber Saddle

Shawn works in a Surf Shop, so the snowboard seat should not come as a surprise.

This saddle may look Spartan, but note that it is suspended on a Biltwell hinge and that a Fox Float RP3 mountain bike air shock provides maximum comfort!

The King Sporty tank is a 3.2 gallon with a lowered petcock and an external gas guage.
